Lacy Shadows

 Hi everyone!

Here is recent shoot done for AS photography, hope you like it. I wanted to experiment creating shaow patterns using lace. I' so glad it worked, because at first, I had no idea how I was going to do it, where to hold the lace, stuff like that. I made them black and white to emphasise the patterns and the light and dark areas more. I get a 3 week holiday starting tomorrow, yay! So hopefully I will be posting more interesting posts and more often. Hope you all have a great weekend, don't forget to comment, and check out out my links twitter lookbook bloglovin and subscribe to my blog if you haven't already :)

Arabic Style ring/bracelet DIY

Hi everyone!

I was so excited to do my first DIY tutorial and I really enjoyed making this, it was suprisingly easy to do and didn't take a lot of time. You can always just follow up to step 6 for a quicker, more simple bracelet/ring and of course, you can use any beads that you own :) Here's how to make it:

1. First cut a piece of string that will fit around your wrist and add a bit more length, so you can tie the ends. Simply thread beads onto the string until they cover your whole wrist and tie the ends togther tightly.
2. So you've made the first part of the bracelet. Try it on to see if it fits.
3. Repeat what you did for step 1, but use a piece of string that covers your middle finger (or any finger you'd like). Tie the ends together and try it on.
4. Next, cut a piece of string that is a bit longer than the length of your wrist to the base of your middle finger. Tie one end of it to the bracelet you made in step 1.
5. Fill this piece with beads. I used a larger, statement bead for this and filled the rest with small gold beads.
6. Tie the end to the ring that you made earlier. You can leave finish here or carry on to step 7.
7. Cut two fairly long pieces of string, one longer than the other and tie the shorter peice at the top of the large statement bead, making sure you've tied it so equal halfs are hanging loose. Repeat this with the larger peice, about half an inch above the first.
8. Fill each string half with beads. I used long beads in a different colour for this. Tie the ends to the bracelet, making sure that each end you tie is equal distance from the large statement bead.
9. Repeat this for the top two halfs, tieing the ends further away from the large central bead. And your done!

I hope you liked it, please comment if you like this kind of post or if you'd like to make this DIY and please send me an image of yours, if you do. Thanks again for all the great comments! Hope you all had a nice weekend :)

Lauren Catherine Style Shoot

Hi everyone,

I know you have already seen some of these shots, but this lot was edited for part of my AS photography coursework. I drew inspiration from the young photographer Lauren Catherine, whose work is mainly black and white and inlcudes many elements of nature. I know that a few of these arn't black and white, but this was because I felt that some of the colour should be left, just becuase they are so beautiful (especially the ones taken in the fields). I hope you like them and please check out Lauren Catherine's work, its unbelieveably beautiful and unique. I'm trying to keep up to a blogging schedule, which is to post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For the first few weeks I was quite good with this, but recently, I've missed a few days when I should have posted, so sorry about that. I've had family over on the weekend and had a few AS level deadlines this week, but now I have a bit more free time to post :)

Hope you are all well,

Hi everyone!

I did an outfit/photography shoot this weekend and some of the images I will be using for my exploration of black and white photography. I was inspired by the young photographer Lauren Catherine, who does black and white fashion and portrait photography. I will be editing those images and posting them soon. Anyway, these are some outfit photos I took at the same time. I loved the beautiful fields of dandylions and daisies and I was so happy that the weather was perfect. It was the first time I had gone out onto the fields near my house on my own with just my camara and tripod  to take photos and was a bit nervous about people giving me funny looks, but I then thought, I want to be a proffessional photographer so I'm just gonna have to deal with it, and in the end I really enjoyed it!I hope you all are having a good weekend and I hope you all do something nice on bank holiday monday!

Inspiration of the week

mmm I just love floral headbands!

could someone please show me how to create something like this? wow, is it a blurred photograph, or is it two images layered over eachother, with one being slightly transparent? I'll have to experiment... love the colours though :)

how unique is this picture? I so want to try this and give my images a cartoon style! funky! (what a dork I am...)

I love this image, as its quite unusual and a bit strange, but I love the pose in the bottom image and the beautiful water droplets

I love makeup photography, and I might post some of my makeup shoots on here, but I love how this models green eye's pop against the pink eyeshadow and flowers - beautiful!
aah, this is like heaven, I love the dreamy effect of the second image :)

I like that this image is really bright and contrasted, making only the girls hair, face and arms apear. genious.
